Knife blades
Knife blades
These knife blades are the product of 15 years of knife making experimentation, field testing, and experience with bushcraft, handwork, carving, basket making, trapping, skinning, hide tanning, canoe building, and more.
After years of hammering out blades from various types of high carbon steel, I have switched to using high quality AEB-L stainless steel for this run. AEB-L stainless is an extremely tough steel (resistant to chipping and edge folding) that keeps an edge very well, yet remains fairly easy to sharpen, particularly for a stainless steel. After switching to this for my personal blades I am very happy with it. Now I no longer have to worry about rust and corrosion on my blades after doing simple things like cutting an apple or atmospheric moisture over time.
These blades are professionally heat treated, cryogenically cooled in liquid nitrogen, then tempered to 61RC hardness. The bevels are hollow ground which makes sharpening even easier.
Choose from:
-3.5" all-purpose belt knife. This is my daily use knife, good for just about anything.
-3.25" carving knife (Sloyd). Designed particularly for carving, with a long gradual taper and a fine tip. Made inspired by Scandinavian "sloyd" knives, or wood working knife often used by spoon carvers and green wood workers.
-2.75" craft knife. A shorter blade for more control in crafts, basketry, carving, or just general use.
