This two sided sharpening puck is good for heavy use sharpening of dry scrapers as it will never really wear out. It has a coarse grit on one side for when you've neglected your edge and need to bring it back into condition, and a medium grit on the other for touching up as you scrape. I find one of the main issues with people who are new to dry scraping is that they don't sharpen often enough. This leads to an extremely dull, rounded edge that takes a long time to re-sharpen. The coarse side of the puck will be good for this rehabilitation task. Use the medium grit side for sharpening as you scrape -- as soon as the scraper stops taking clean easy shavings, touch it up quickly! For knives and for fine sharpening, I recommend the two sided diamond stone I sell.
